I bought this for my 5 year old for her birthday. She loved it, but her older sisters (11 and 13) did too. I should have purchased more. It is soft material and not scratchy. The color seems to hold, but I have only washed it once. Purple is very vibrant. Did not shrink, but I washed in hand wash setting and dried flat as suggested for that type of material.
