it seems with every upgrade you need a new item to operate.  This was the perfect purchase allowing me to listen via aux with my new phone.  The cord length was perfect, the sound quality good.  I wish there was a splitter version so I could charge my phone and listen to music at the same time.  Does exactly what it needs to do
