This is a really good set of sketching equipment and I really enjoy using it. I'm more of a hobby drawer rather than an expert, but the quality seems great to me. Included in the roll up pouch are 18 sketching pencils, 3 lovely smokey charcoal pencils (soft, neutral & hard), 2 erasers, 3 paper pens, 1 sharpening knife & 1 pencil extender. I really liked the addition of the kneaded eraser and it was perfect for shaping to reach the small details I needed to rub out. The pencils are perfect for a beginner like me, and I was happy with the range. I don't think you can go wrong as a starter set. The paper pens were a bit knocked on the tips, but it wasn't a problem. Finally,the portable pouch has spaces left over to add extra items should you wish. I use mine for brushes & sometimes pens. It just makes it so convenient for transporting everything you need. I have had great fun experimenting with the textures of these pencils and I really think this set would be perfect for beginners. I'm still learning, but I think this is a real bargain and I'm really pleased with the results it gives. Please be aware that if you buy this for kids, there is a sharp knife, so I'd advise just to remove it first. Otherwise, this is brilliant value.
