A female relative interested in DIY recently asked me for advice about buying power tools, one of these was a drill/screwdriver. I offered to lend her my mains powered hammer drill but she said it was too heavy for her to use. I then asked her what jobs she wanted the drill for and she told me just general DIY and flat pack furniture assembly and definitely not for drilling through masonry. So my advice was to get a cordless drill / screwdriver with at least a 12 volt motor as the drill won't be used regularly and my relative has a limited budget I thought this Werktough drill/driver which drill comes with a 1300mAh li-on battery, a mains powered battery charger and 2 x screwdriver bits would be ideal for her.
SPECIFICATIONS
Drill Weight ( with battery )- 1.5 Kg
Power Source - Battery-Powered
Voltage - 12 volts
Wattage- - 15.6 watts
Battery Cell Type - Lithium Ion
Battery Capacity - 1300 mAh
Torque - 40 newton mms
Handle Material - Acrylic

Usage - Wood Drilling/Screwdriver
The drill seems well put together and seems robust enough for my relative's use. Useful features include a 10mm keyless chuck ( so no more hunting for the chuck key when you need to change bits), a choice of 17 torque settings, a soft rubberised grip for comfort and to keep a firmer grip on the drill and a built in LED light which is a great help when using the drill/driver in low light conditions.
Overall I think this is an ideal drill for DIY woodwork use, screwdriver use and furniture assembly. You will have to buy your own wood drill bits and more screw driver and Allen bolt sockets etc but these are all easily available at reasonable prices.
