if an item arrives broken, I get in a very bad mood and immediately call Amazon and ask for a refund and an apology.
The actual wooden box and beautiful grinder are worth more than what is being charged for it, so I just called and told them the actual jar needs better wrapping and that I had gotten a small cut on my hand. Amazon insisted on sending me a replacement which arrived today. Even though the new box had the same problem as the first, I was very happy!
Now, I will be honest and say that I did call Amazon this time, but not for a replacement. I don't think it's right to keep calling for replacement boxes, but I do think it's a shopper's job to let Amazon know that the packaging needs done differently.
Having said all that, I have to say that the box was totally worth the regular price, even without the grinder. The grinder is also beautiful and is worth the price Amazon charges. To the maker, please put heavier bubble wrap around the glass jars. I would LOVE to have my glass jar(s since Amazon told me to keep the 2nd box), and they wanted to send me a replacement. I couldn't let them just keep sending me replacements, but please, make, pack the glass jar better and you will have a first cass kit.
