The remote offers you the option to have only the LED lights gently flicker, while the "flame" stays stationary. Or, you can select the other mode where the LEDs light steadily, and the "flame" moves. Either way looks great. The remote also offers a nice option of automatic timers in 2, 4, and 6 hour modes. They are made of wax and look like the real thing and the flicker flame throws off a nice shadow and almost looks real. These are lighter than the expensive brands as they take smaller batteries. Simply press one of the hour selections, and the candle will stay on for that number of hours then turn off.
