It's been years since I've had an actual alarm clock. Not because I depend on my phone for that, but because it's so hard for me to sleep at night and having a bright LED readout right next to my face when I'm trying to sleep. This alarm clock has a couple awesome features, but the first one that I fell in love with was the fact that I can DIM the readout all the way down to nothing if I so choose. I keep it at about 15% so I can see it if need be, but it's not going to shine through my eyelids when I'm trying to not be awake anymore! This alone makes me love this alarm clock. I wake up multiple times during the night and often have to pick up my phone to check the time. With this I can just look over and see it without blinding myself.
The second awesome feature on this thing is the "DST" button. "DST" stands for "day light savings time" and if you activate it, it will automatically fix itself going one hour forward in the spring and one hour back in the fall. I don't have to worry about going around and reseting every clock in my house anymore (just a few)! I won't really be able to tell how well it works until November, but for now, the fact that It's an available option makes me happy enough.
Beyond that, I also love the outlets on top; both usb and regular 3 prong outlets. This makes it a lot easier for me to plug in and unplug certain things that I don't keep constaintly plugged in. This makes a big difference to me because my other power strip is under my bed, so plugging things in and removing them later is a pain in the butt. When I strightened my hair yesterday morning, I didn't have to crawl on my tummy to get to the power strip under my bed! I just use one of the outlets on top of the clock! I also love using one of the USB ports for my fitbit charger. It's got a magnetic end that attaches to the actual fitbit, so I don't like having it connected to think when it's not in use. Again, using the outlets on the top of the clock make removing things so much more convenient! All in all, I'm really liking this thing. It's fairly low profile as compared to most alarm clocks, and it does that without sacrificing additional options. I'm thinking of buying one for my husband's side of the bed now!
