The lights are nicely made and work well. They come with the batteries installed, all we had to do was turn them on by the on/off switch on the bottom of them.  The remote control came with a battery in it, too, but does not work - we tried a fresh battery with the remote control but it still does not work..  I can use the tea lights but have to turn them on individually.
