They stay sharp and are just the right size for her to use especially when cutting up fruits and veggies to juice. I use the peeler all the time to peel carrots and other veggies quickly and easily  by resting the carrot over the middle partition between the sinks. About 8-12 swipes & rotation turns and one carrot is peeled, then flip and repeat on other end. Ergonomically this works much better and faster than the usual metal peelers. It rarely clogs and all the peels go right into the collander that I have in the sink for easy cleanup.
