This handheld pointer by SANDAO is perfect for anyone that makes presentations, teaches, gives tour guides, or any other activity where precise pointing and extended reach is required.

For me, this pointer has been a great investment.  So much so that I bought two of them! See...I have muscular dystrophy and use a power wheelchair.  My declining strength, dexterity, and coordination in my arms, hands, and fingers make even the simple act of pointing to something difficult for me.  I always look like I am pointing to something else when asking questions or assistance from someone. This pointer has made communication much easier for my daily activities.  I also use it for everyday tasks like pushing light switches, elevator buttons, or, dare I say, push down the flush handle on my toilet at home where normally I cannot reach after transferring back into my wheelchair.

My assessment of this pointer is very well made.  It is very compact when closed. When fully extended it reaches over 39 inches!  Although there is some resistance while extending the pointer, this is a good thing because it is less likely to retract when pushing buttons or repeatedly tapping it on a chalkboard or other surface.  Additionally, the rod segments surprised me. They are much thicker than what you would expect. This creates a lot of strength and rigidity and therefore is very durable and resistant to buckling. As I said, I can provide a lateral load on a toilet handle and the pointer has not broken.  The telescoping metal segments are a set of seven stainless steel rods...very robust and should never rust. The extended length is superb and the collapsed length makes this very portable and easy to stick in a pocket or purse.

The black handle itself is comfortable in the hand.  Although the description implies it is ABS plastic, to me it feels like a hard dense foam or rubber and not sweaty.  It provides a good grip. One design feature that I wish it had would be a hole in the handle to place a wrist lanyard so that dropping the pointer is much less likely.  The tip on the end of the pointer is a felt nub about the size of a pencil eraser. It is perfect to avoid scratching whatever you are touching it to. My only complaint is that the nice pretty white tip out of the package has turned dark and dirty looking.  I tried to wash it with soap and water but it did very little to improve the appearance. The manufacturer says that it is replaceable, however, no extra replacements were included and unfortunately, I have not seen a replacement package online to purchase.

Aside from a few wishlist items, it is the best pointer that I have ever used.  It surpasses others in comfort, strength, rigidity, and you can’t beat the extended length.  Buy one (or two) today!
