When my husband builds a fire, it burns HOT. I have never had someone build fires that are as warm as what he builds. I figured a fire is a fire. But somehow he builds fires that will melt anything, including burning down the firewood grate in my old fireplace. I wanted to see exactly how hot his fires are, so picked up this fireplace temperature gauge to see what he can do. It has a strong magnet on the back that you can use to attach to a metal surface as well as a small loop you can use to suspend it. I haven't yet figured out how to mount it with our ceramic tiles around our fireplace, but will figure out something!
