These lights are really bright and neon just as described. They take two AA batteries and have a pretty decent length. I could not find a measuring tape so cant br sure what it is, but for the purpose of outlining my daughters tent they have more than enough room. So far so good on the battery life, I have had them on at least .three hours and still going strong.
