Little miss is turning 4 next week and we have been trying to prepare her for pre-school, though none are open due to the pandemic. When the older kids begin school in a few weeks, she will be doing school, too, so I wanted to start her with learning tools such as this puzzle. I had to purchase it a second time since our dog decided the wood was tasty and chewed up a few of her letters. But it was a learning experience and now she knows she has to use the puzzle at her table and can't leave pieces on the floor or the dog eats them. (Of course, now she assumes every missing toy has been eaten by the dog....) The puzzle is a decent size, not too big for little hands, but not tiny and easy to lose. The letters are all colorful and vibrant with cute patterns and prints. The prints correspond with the letter - a dog on d, a zebra print on z, etc. Unlike other wooden puzzles these do not have the little pegs on the top, but they are slightly raised so don't lay flush with the puzzle board so you can easily take them out. Both the first puzzle we got and the replacement one we had to order have gotten a ton of use. She loves doing her "school" and learning her letters and is actually beginning to recognize some of them thanks to repeated "what's this?" question and answer sessions. Super cute, sturdy and durable, colorful and bright, great early learning tool.
