The holder works exactly as anticipated. The dispenser however... it took a little work to get it right. It takes quite a few "pumps" to get a constant flow of toothpaste. Keep in mind... when using the dispenser, you should push your brush in and hold it there for a second or two. Once you get it primed up, a nice little "pea-sized" amount will dispense. I don't recommend this for use with electric toothbrushes. As the dispenser will miss and toothpaste will land behind the bristles.
