We bought this because we needed to fix a lot of food in a short time. We mostly used it to cut lettuce for salads and it made quick work of that part of the meal. I didn't try to cut other veggies with the lettuce, because we didn't have time and we needed very thin sliced veggies for our salads. But as for cutting the lettuce, it saved us a lot of time.
