Purchased this taoster to replace my really old one that is not working well. This toats quickly! It does toast evenly, although once I did accidentally push the bagel setting and realized it was toasting on only one side.
This does get hot on the outside - which I do not care for since my son uses the toaster. Otherwise it is really great.
