Surprisingly Effective Way to Avoid Peeling Eggs!

So, I was really curious to try this product because I love hard boiled eggs but I find peeling them to be quite a hassle. The box was damaged when I received it, but the actual products were fine. You receive six of the cups to cook eggs in as a part of this order, which is nice because you can do the half dozen all at once. The cups look interesting. They have a pronged bottom and lids that screw onto the top to secure the egg inside while you are cooking it. You open the top, put one side through the cup and screw the other piece back on to seal it. The lids are red and the pouches are a grey plastic that is very slightly see through.

I decided to test this by boiling off twelve eggs, six in the cups and six in the shells. They cooked in the same amount of time, so I was pleased to see that I did not need to change my procedure for making hard boiled eggs at all using these. You simply break the egg into the cup, seal it, and then drop it in the water with the lid up. On my stove, I usually take the eggs to a rolling boil and then let them sit off the heat for about 10 minutes to get the desired firmness that I like without the green color on the yolk that over-cooking tends to cause.

After 10 minutes, I took all 12 cooked eggs out of the hot water and stuck them in ice water to cool, just following my normal procedure. Finally, I got to try one. I ate one of my shelled eggs first. Then I went to pop the cooked egg out of the pouch. I will say that they certainly do not pop out as easily as advertised. I ended up using a spoon and scooping it out though and that worked very well. That small issue aside though, the eggs were perfectly cooked and tasted great. I was very surprised but pleased. I will likely continue to use these cups as it saves me the hassle of de-shelling when I want to make hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, egg salad, or other tasty egg treats.

Overall, I would recommend it for people who struggle with de-shelling eggs after cooking them. Due to the slight issue in popping them out, I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.
