This is a beautiful salt rock lamp but they need to get warm enough to emit negative ions into the room. This doesn't get warm at all but it is very pretty. I have it on my desk next to my computer and it puts off a soothing glow. The light changes colors and I wish there was a way to pick what color you wanted it to stay on... but it's still pretty with the rotating colors. It's small but not tiny. The packaging was torn up but the salt lamp wasn't damaged in any way. The shipping was FAST. I think this would make a wonderful night light in a child's room. As I said it's not going to give you the health benefits of a salt rock lamp that gets warm to the touch but it does provide soothing and relaxing low-level lighting.
