I have bought at least 10 thermometers some costing more than this one. But this one as soon as I took it out of the bag I could feel in the weight of it that its durability was going to be execellant. The probes on a lot of them are so touchy. One rong move and they brake off. this one is nice and thick. It is accurate and when you pull the probe out it automaticly turns on and pushing it back in turns it off so you dont have to worryabout leaving it on and killing the battery. It does take one AA A battery that does not come with it. I am really happy to have one that works. My chicken breast just perfect.
