This item appears to work as described. It's light-weight which makes it easy for me to use. Simply hold it in one hand and pull the knife back and forth in one of the slots. I've only used the fine blade and the scissors sharpener. There were no instructions for the scissors slot but I think I did it right. It's small enough to store in a drawer. I like that there are three levels of sharpening-coarse, medium and fine. I'm please with my purchase.
