I like the non skid backing. I had originally bought this for the bathroom, but it wasn't quite as big as I thought it would be. So I now have it by a bedside as something soft and warm to step onto during this cold winter. Rug says velvet in the description, but there is no Velvet in this rug and it's very thin.
