I actually bought this to use as a lumbar support cushion while working from my home office, because the shape of it looked like it would be perfect. I was right! it nestles perfectly against my lower lumbar area, and has just the right amount of mass to keep my back straightened while I work. The pillow inside is actually memory foam, covered in a really soft and almost silky fabric that keeps my skin cool, and even against bare skin, doesn't cause any irritation. Which is extremely helpful, considering it's the middle of a very HOT summer here in central Arizona. And with 104-110 degree temperatures forecasted until the last week of October, I am SOO happy I found not only the perfect support for my back while working, but it doesn't get all sweaty and stick to me, like every other fabric here does.
