I let this charge for a few hours as the instructions directed me and then placed in water to test it out and it works like a charm. I have to say this is the second one I bought and (I plan to buy maybe a couple more) I absolutely love the backup battery feature especially since I live in an area where some days we might get no sun. Definitely a great addition to my yard I plan to purchase more in the future.
