These are a great idea if you have kids that love to listen to their videos, or music that gets loud when your trying to get something done. My daughter loves them, because not only do they have a speaker on each side, but they are also covering up some of the area to block out sounds for my daughter too. She likes that she can listen to her shows, or games, and not have a lot of background noise. I wouldn't say that it is noise cancelling kind of coverage, but my daughter loves it. It makes it easier that it is rechargeable, and also the fact that you can always have the charger, because it tucks in. You will need a base or a outlet that has a USB port to plug it in to charge. I would recommend these if you have kids. They also have a blue one for boys.
