very hard to work, and the colors keep going

I wanted to get this because of all the traveling I do. First the directions are very hard to understand and this is not an easy set up. It taked 3 aaa batteries but I can not figure out why I cant stop the colors all night long. I would say it is very durable and still working on fixing the issues but my kids love it and the colors dont bother them. Therefore gave it to them for there rooms. There is a tempature on it which works right on. Alarm we could set having issues with the time and date.
