I put this into the water, attached to the bottom of the birdbath by the suction cups, which worked on my smooth plastic bath. Nothing happened for several hours in bright sun until I pulled the feeder out of the water and it started pumping. I put it back into the water and got intermittent water streams until the sun went down. Well, to my surprise this small tiny pump comes with a battery inbuilt with its solar panel which gives it another boost when it is cloudy and a few additional hours at night. I Got for my two red foot tortoises. They seem to love it. If it’s a cloudy day it spirts here and there. In full sun water spout gets high maybe a foot 1/2 -2 feet. Tried to capture different spirts from tiny with shade or clouds to full sun. Amazing Addition to Bird Bath! My wife thought I was kidding her when I told her I was getting a solar powered water fountain for our birdbath, but it arrived today and we love it. The first photo shows everything that came: the main unit, funnel-shaped outlet, and 3 different nozzles to allow you to get the effect that you want. The second photo shows the bottom of the device, which even includes suction cups to anchor the device in the bath. The third photo shows the product assembled with the outlet and a particular nozzle. This is an excellent product at an unbelievable price. I do not know how long it will hold up but I believe the company has good customer service. Five stars!
