Some time ago I read an article about the taste changes of certain teas depending on the water used to brew it. They compared a few types of tea (green, English breakfast, and aged oolong from Taiwan) and used different brands of bottled water as well as filtered tap water. And the most amazing thing happened - while bottled water didn't do anything special to oolong tea, the filtered tap water dramatically improved the taste it was remarkable - something like a 70% improvement in taste. I was impressed, and since I am using filtered tap water for my tea, I decided to give it a try. To be on a safe side, since I've never had this type of tea and didn't want to buy something way expensive and end up not liking it, because aged teas have a stronger taste an I could've gotten "not my cup of tea" just because I didn't get used to it gradually. After receiving it I brewed this tea according to instructions, using filtered tap water as usual - and loved it. The taste is multi-dimensional, similar to a flower slowly opening - strong and subtle at the same time, almost sweet, but not overly, then it's a little sour note, and then BOOM - very floral, and at the end even a tiny pine aroma. All in all, it's an excellent tea.
