A great item for a child's introduction to space

The telescope arrived very quickly and was well packaged for the transportation to me . Once unpboxed from the normal amazon shipping cardboard - the telescope itself came in a beautifuly designed box that would appeal to any child. 

Those who purchase this scope should note that it is not a professional top of the range item within its field and this is reflected in the price. Whilst it is not as powerful as others on the market ( which was expected) it is an ideal piece of equipment to introduce your child to astronomy and would make an unusual and thoughtful gift  . 

The scope itself was relatively easy to set up and is currently on a desk facing the bedroom window . It is well built and feels quite sturdy whilst also being an eye catching focal talking point in the room. 

I attempted to star gaze last night but to be honest I think it was just a little too cloudy so I will attempt again this evening. Whilst I couldn't get a good view if the stars ( which I believe was due to the weather) this morning I was able to zoom in perfectly to a small Robin that was feeding from my garden bird table. Then it hit me that this scope would also be amazing for wildlife and bird spotters. 

I would advise any parent or family member with a child showing interest in space or nature to purchase this item as a starter kit to see if the interest is just a fad before spending out on more high tech equipment .This kit wont beak the bank and removes the child from tablets and TVs etc which I think is another bonus.
