I have never owned these type of lights before, but now they are going to be my "Go To" lights !! They are extremely easy to put on your tree, and you don't really see the thin wire of the strand ! It comes with a romote that contains a battery already, and there are 8 different buttons to choose 8 different patterns to choose from, as well as a "brighter and dimmer" switch !! My only thing I would recommend is to buy more than one strand, LOL
