I like using silicone bakeware so I purchased this set specifically for making portioned sized treats and baked goods for my husband’s lunches. He loves brownies so I especially wanted to make brownie bites in these pans for him. They would be the perfect size and shape for his bento boxes. I washed and dried them completely before using. I mixed up my batter and filled them ¾ full then baked. I have tons of silicone bakeware and love it so I was super excited to unmold the cute brownie bites. They stuck like crazy and the bottom of the brownies developed a weird empty hole of the side. I cooked some batter in these pans and cooked the leftover in a silicone muffing pan that I owned. The ones in the muffin pan did not stick or have that weird hole at the bottom so I know that it was not an issue with my batter or oven.
I have never had to oil any of my other silicone pans before but this set definitely needs to be oiled. I mixed up another batch of batter and this time, I oiled the pans very well with coconut oil and stirred the batter in each of the wells before baking to ensure that no air was trapped under the batter. I also put the pans on a baking sheet to make them easier to put into the oven because the silicone is very floppy and difficult to handle while filled. This time, it worked much better. The brownies came out without breaking apart. I plan on using them for more recipes and oiling them well before using.
