Our first retractable leash

This is our first retractable dog leash so we don't have  any other to compare it to. We've only used standard dog leashes before.

So I gotta say I have always wanted a retractable dog leash. I don't know why it took so long to finally get one. We've had dogs since I was a little girl. And we have always used the regular leashes. I decided to finally get a retractable one this time mainly for my parents.

Most of the time they walk our dog and his leash is just littered with knots. Our dog is not a good walker. (My husband and I gave up long ago on teaching the dog and my parents.) He pulls constantly and is just everywhere, so I guess they gave up on keeping the leash tidy.

My husband and I got to try the retractable dog leash ourselves, and while he still constantly pulls and goes in every direction, at least we aren't being dragged the whole way through and the dog isn't choking himself from the pulling. That's the main thing I like about it.

We got the medium size for our 15lb Jack Russell Terrier and it works just fine even for his small size. The leash itself doesn't feel heavy. It feels like it is made of very good quality. It retracts very smoothly and hasn't gotten tangled. Hopefully my parents can keep it that way.

The only gripe I have is that the stop function gets stuck most of the time. For me anyway. My husband didn't mention it but then I don't think he used it much. When I used the stop button it kept sticking even though I never slid the lock in place. Also it takes a couple tries to get the button unstuck. For me it's a minor hinderance so I only knocked off 1 star for it.

Overall I really like the leash. Made me wish I had gotten one like it sooner.
