I have a very nice gamer headset with boom microphone and it has two 3.5mm plugs: one for audio out and the other for MIC. Unfortunately, my computer has a single jack for both mic and headset. I believe many cellphones and other devices have the same problem. This adapter allows me to use both earset and mic. Well worth the money.
