Didn't work like I hoped

I have been using glass nail files for awhile now and have loved them. But the one I have been using has not been working that well for me any more, having been worn down way too much. I had high hopes for this nail file. Unfortunately, I wasn't as happy when I actually used it.   It comes in a nice container, though. It is designed to help you keep it clean and protected from damage. The top of it doesn't come off of the nail file. It just comes out of the container that holds it when not in use. It looks nice, and is an even nicer looking nail file.   But it doesn't work that well. I used it to file my nails down and shape them, and it simply wasn't working for me. I resorted to pulling out my good nail file from my purse that I have been using for awhile. I had thrown away my other glass file I was using that stayed in the drawer of my desk, which I had hoped this one would replace. But this one is only there now as a back up and for light filing when I might need it.   I am not happy with its performance. It only has the file on one side, so the back is completely smooth and can't be used. And the edges aren't able to be used either. The grit on it is very fine, so it doesn't really do much. It takes forever to get anything done.   I don't recommend using this if you are looking for a good nail file. It works in a jam, when you have nothing more to use. But it doesn't work otherwise. At least not for what I need it for.
