This is an innovative design .. there are several UV LED light sources surrounding a fan, protected by a cover. It runs only when there is subdued to no light in the room. It is controlled by a light sensor. When it turns dark, the UV lights turn on and so does the fan, which is pulling air into the unit. The concept is that the lights attract flying bugs, then the fan pulls them in (and, I guess, does them in), then the dead bugs dehydrate in the device's tray.
