They work both as a curler and straightener, the different settings let me choose how high heat I needed. Love that no need to take two things while traveling and save some space since these are already heavy and take up so much space. It's easy to use. Since I'm not used to using 2 in 1, sometimes it's just getting confusing, just getting used to it.
