I ordered these in a bit of a hurry as my old multimeter was profoundly poorly. The first thing I noticed about this meter was how alrge and clear the display is. It also has a backlight (switch on as required) and a usefully bright torch (not the usual feeble little LED) - great when grovelling around under desks. Both light sources and the meter itself have auto power off functions to conserve the batteries but these are set to sensible periods and the meter beeps before hibernating.

There are several ways to mount the unit. It has the usual stand on the back but also a mounting magnet and a hole for hanging on a screw . The meter itself is encased in a closely-fitting flexible shroud that extends protection to all parts of the meter and sits proud of the front protecting the display too.

The inclusion of a temperature proble is really useful. The bead is tiny and can be placed among components or between battery cells to check for overheating. The other features are easy to use, seem accurate and the auto-ranging function works well. The probes supplied are absolutely fine but I use the clip-on hook ones from my previous meter as they better suit the sort of work I do. Overall I'm very pleased with my snap purchase.
