I do a lot of camping - yep even in the winter - and before each camp, to make my life easier, I have to charge up all sorts of devices - like various USB lights, torches, power banks for phones and other devices like USB battery speakers etc. Due to most devices nowadays being supplied with a USB lead but not an actual charger plug itself, this would normally mean a lot of time charging and constantly swapping devices, charger plugs and leads about.
With this Hub I can charge every single device at the same time. This includes fast charge sockets. Note: The hub can only fast charge devices capable of fast charging, it cannot charge devices any faster than what they are designed to be charged.
In my opinion this will save me a whole load of time and effort before each camping trip - brilliant.
I set the hub up yesterday and connected seven different devices to various ports on the hub. The devices had different charging requirements (as far as current requirements go) and charged at different rates. The hub just sat there and quite happily charged the lot of the - at the same time. I like devices that just do what they're supposed to without any drams and this Hub certainly does that.
Each port is quite clearly marked with it's output current capability. You have four ports with a 1.5 Amp capability, four ports with a 2.5 Amp capability and four ports with a 3.5 Amp capability (fast charge). If you need more than that at any one time then you've got too much kit!! lol You don't have to know the specific requirements of your devices as it will only give the device what it needs. (So long as it is below the maximum current output of the individual port in use). For example If you were to plug a slow charge device into a 3.5 Amp fast charge port then the hub will adapt and still charge the device happily without overloading it. That said if you plug a fast charge device into a slow charge port then it will still charge but much more slowly than expected.
Overall if you have a lot of devices that need charging at the same time then this is the hub for you.
