I recently looked around my house and realized I really have no decorations or pictures to represent my family or who I am. I decided I need to start collecting picture frames and putting out memories of our life. This was my first purchase made to do that, and I have some mixed feelings about it.
I really need things I can hang on my walls, not more things to sit on the mantle or bookshelves, but I was interested in this because it is simple and basic. I hesitated because of the wood carving on the front that says, "Keep Memory" since it bothers me a little. The word should read "memories" and with it not being grammatically correct, I struggle with it a little. But it is a small issue, and something that can be overlooked easily since it is not the focal point.
I love the size of it, though. It is a 5x7 frame, though calling it a frame is not necessarily true. There is no frame around it, which was why I liked it and why I wanted it.
I was NOT expecting the acrylic frame to be just two thin pieces of acrylic that you sandwich a picture between. I had a difficult time getting the two pieces to fit together in the wooden frame. One piece was always taller than the other instead of lining up the way they should have. It was a tight fit to get them both in the wooden holder. But then the wood began loosening up some, the more I tried. I worry about how it might be in the long run. Will it eventually not hold the pieces together and let my pictures fall out? If I had this much trouble just putting the two pieces of acrylic together and sliding the in to the holder, will I have worse problems once I insert a picture? Sometimes the pictures can be pretty thick compared to regular photo paper. These are things that cross my mind, so I am not entirely sure this is going to meet my needs the way I had hoped.
I love the look of it, but have such mixed feelings over the way it works. I will give it a try for awhile, once I decide what picture I need to put in the frame and set out on the mantle.
