Love to use outside at back porch table when friends and family come over. The bottom has rubber grip pads that keeps it from sliding or being scooted around. It does keep the wind from blowing ashes, but I cant say that this is a smokeless ashtray. Smoke does escape from the ashtray, windy or not.
