There is a long string attached to them. Without it they don't light up.

I feel mislead on this item.  There is no way I would have purchased this had it been explained to me that I will somehow have to be in the dark at all times and be able to hide this long string.  You can barely see the string if you look closely.  But it was not referanced at any point, so I wasn't looking for it.  This is not a fair listing for what you actually get.  Bad business.
