My son hasn't done as much skateboarding as he used to, but when I saw this bag, I knew it would be something he liked. I know he hated having to carry his skateboard when he wasn't riding it, so this would be a great addition to his gear.
Initially when he put it on, he said it felt strange. He thought it was an awkward feel, but he put it on empty with no adjusting of the straps in any way. When he went to put one of his skateboards in the bag, he was convinced it wouldn't fit, saying the bag was too small for his board. I don't know why he had such a negative attitude about it. But his tune changed the more he messed with it.
The bag is made of a durable, waterproof Oxford fabric, though I am not sure what that is. It feels like a nylon type of bag and doesn't have any stretch to it, so you need to make sure your board is smaller than the bag to ensure it fits. The bag is designed to fit 28 to 31.5 inches skateboards. The bag size itself is 31.5 × 9 inches. It has zippers and buckles all around the bag. There are straps on the inside to help hold your board in place, but we didn't need those at all. The skateboard slid easily in to one end, then once my son figured out you had to unzip the other end to get it to fit around your skateboard, he got the other end in as well and it was a nice snug fit.
The back of the bag is padded so you don't have to worry about your board smacking in to your back and causing discomfort. The strap also adjusts, allowing you to find the perfect fit for your body and size. It is designed to be worn cross body and hangs nicely once you get the right adjustment for yourself.
My son did say one of the zippers began to pull away on the seam when he was putting his board in. But when I looked at the bag after, I didn't see any problems. I think it was more of his negativity, for whatever reason. You never know when you have hormonal teenagers. (He also refused to do a video review right now because his acne had flared up on his face and he didn't want me to capture it on video, so I wasn't able to get his honest thoughts when he was in a better mood and not so hormonal.)
There is ample room for you to stash other items in your bag, too. My son always took a drawstring bag with him when he went riding because he wanted his tools with him. This bag allows you to carry whatever tools you want, as well as room for safety protection if you wear it.
As a mom, I don't see that this is a bad bag. But I can't say for sure, since I am not a skater and don't wear cross body bags. And obviously I can't rely on my teenage son right now to give me his honest thoughts. But it appears to be a solid bag with plenty of room to stash things and a convenient way to carry your board. I am happy with it, but we shall see how long it really does last.
