Sure a person can go find rocks to which you can draw or paint on. But I personally loved that they were all in one box. I had plenty of markers suitable for painting so we used these also. The plan is to paint these with a theme and hid them in a fairy garden. That was the plan....and then the kids got a hold of them. In either case, the gift is perfect for the crafty kid, teen or adult.
