When you live in a small flat you tend to buy stuff that doesn't take up too much space so when it came to replace my radio I wanted something small smart looking with extra functionality so when I saw this retro looking FM radio which is also a Bluetooth speaker and plays MP3 files from a micro SD card or USB memory stick I thought it would be worth trying. Another factor that made me choose this one is it has a built in rechargeable battery and can also be used as an alarm clock.
The radio comes well packed in a smart box along with a USB to USB type C charging cable, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jackplug audio cable.and a user guide. This doesn't come with a charging plug but you can use a phone charger, USB port on a laptop or games console and even a power bank as a charging source.
I really like the retro look of this little radio measuring approximately 15 x 5 x 10 cms which is made from a wood effect plastic with a metal speaker grill and telescopic aerial. With the help of the user guide I set up the clock I then auto scanned for radio stations which were saved in the memory. Connecting my phone or laptop via Bluetooth to the radio was simple and the audio files played without any problems. I tested the built in MP3 player both on micro SD card and memory stick and the tracks also played without any hiccups. I found the sound quality from the small single speaker surprisingly very good, it wasn't tinny at all. The stated playing time of the radio using the FM tuner on a full charge is stated as up to 6 hours depending how loud the volume is set at. I'm not sure if that's the same for the Bluetooth and MP3 player modes as I've been mainly using it in it's FM radio mode.
