This solar fountain pump is a fun choice to add a little flair to your bird bath or small pond. For the pump to work, you MUST have bright sunlight or the motor will not pump up water effectively. I had a lot of difficulty on a sunny day getting the pump to work when there was un umbrella overhead, so removing the shadow had it working. Covering just a small section of the solar panel caused it to stop functioning again, so it is very sensitive to the light. Unfortunately, the fountain pump moved around my small pond, and unless it was in direct sunlight it would not work. Being said, if you have a bright, sunny area, you should have no issues. I just wouldn't recommend this for an area that has any hint of shade.
