I used to get my nails done all the time, and even when I stopped, I still liked to go in and get a pedicure. But I hated paying for it. It was costing me too much. I have wanted an at home manicure/pedicure set for some time, so jumped at the opportunity to try one out. I fell in love with it and use it nonstop. Last week my brother came over and saw me using it. He was helping my 14 year old with an ingrown toenail and I showed him how mine worked and how I use it along with my tools to clean things up. He was super impressed. I had just gotten this new system in, so showed it to him. He ended up taking it home for himself!
The entire system is easy to use and small. It has the attachments, a drawstring pouch to put it in, the battery operated device, and all of it works with a touch button you have to hold down to keep the motor going. We had some trouble getting one of the attachments out, but once we got it unstuck, we had no further trouble.
In this set you get 5 attachments, each designed for a different purpose. You get a Sandpaper grinder which quickly grinds the nail edge into your desired shape, a chromium corundum grinder to grind down the edge, a white corundum grinder to polish the nail surface, a carborundum grinder which removes dead skin cells around the the nail edge, and a felt grinder to polish the nail giving it a natural, shiny surface. Each piece fits securely in the unit, but it does take some force to push it in. It took me a few tries to learn how much pressure I needed. But none have wobbled or felt loose, and they have each done their job well when using it. The only thing I wish it did was work without having to push the button the whole time. That is a pain. But it works great otherwise. A light would be an added bonus to it. I have a light on my system which makes it much easier to use, but even without the light, it is still easy to use and works great.
I am very pleased with this set. For less than $10 and a few batteries, you can easily do your own nails from home and save the cost of the expensive salon prices.
