Flimsy and not as pictured

I am always looking for something lightweight to put over my dresses and fancier looking tops, things I can wear year round. I saw this sheer gray shawl and thought it would be pretty and simple, an easy way to add elegance to my clothing and dressier outfits. It was not quite what I expected though. I was actually a bit disappointed with how it looks. It looked so much better in the pictures. It came in super simple packaging with no branding or information on it. It was thinner and less fancy looking in person. I feel I could easily have made something similar by buying the sheer fabric myself. The only difference is that I didn't have to make it myself. It is a simple sheer fabric with no embellishment and the edges not really finished. The good thing is there are multiple colors to choose from. I got the gray color, but there are over 30 options to select from. It is simple with a hole in the middle for you to put your head through, but the hole itself was almost too small for me to easily fit my head through. I was shocked. I do not have a big head! But it was a tight fit and I thought it wouldn't fit at all. Then I was not impressed with how it looked on me, so doubt I will be using it. It barely hung low enough in front to cover my chest and definitely didn't hang very far down my back. There was no way it hung the way it does in the pictures. It did cover my shoulders, though. I guess if you are a little person it might hang lower and cover more, so is not good for larger women. I was disappointed in the results and didn't get any pictures of it on because I was that unhappy with how it hung.  I did have better luck with the white shawl that is open. It is basically a long rectangular piece of chiffon material. It is not fancy in any way and is very simple. It doesn't look like the picture at all. It was also not as wide as I would like for a wrap. The length was okay but the width was not. Again, disappointed. But at least it was better than the first. I still think I could make something nicer myself.
