My five year is very sensative to sensory things. Haircuts have always been a total disaster. He wants his hair cut, but as soon as the hair touches any part of him, he breaks out in hives and flips. It is so bad, that I no longer bring him to a hair salon because I know he will melt down. I cut his hair in the bathroom. It is always a very kinda ok haircut because despite my youtube research, the combination of tears, his and mine, snot, spit, sweat and hair always seems to impede the quality of my work. We slipped our beauty cape on and after a smal fashion show producing many giggles from his sister, I was able to give him the quickest, easiest haircut ever without a single tear. Small hives on his neck and still right into the tub, but overall the best success ever.
