Originally got this thinking of using it in our refrigerator since fruits and veggies seem to spoil fast in it and have to be consumed within a week. It's an old refrigerator and we are renting an apartment so we have no choice but deal with what we got. It's not like I would've looked for another apartment had I known this refrigerator doesn't keep my produce fresh. To keep it cold I have to put on coldest setting and that makes anything close to inner side of the refrigerator freeze so I have to make sure I don't put anything close to its side that can get spoiled by frost. But I don't think cold temperatures cause my veggies and fruits grow black mold on it and the only way to remedy is to keep everything air tight in it.
It's been only a day since I put this little guy in my refrigerator so it's too early to tell if it does sterilize but I really hope and keep my fingers crossed. I will update once I notice any difference but for now it gets all 5 stars for its compact and nice look.
If it doesn't help with my refrigerator I will try in my husbands bathroom where he stashes stinky workout clothes before I get to wash them lol
