Each comes in 4 different sections. To assemble them you have to screw 3 separate sections of the handle together then screw the axe or sickle on to the end. I did have some trouble getting different parts screwed in. the threads aren't that great. You could also choose one or the other and make one long one. They are okay in quality. I bought them as a Halloween prop for my decorations but my children got ahold of them first. After they were done trying them out, the ends, where the axe and sickle meet the handle, was a little flexible and had to be straightened back out.
All in all, great for decorations or as a prop with a Halloween costume but take it easy on them
