My husband takes a banana to work with him every day to eat for his mid-day snack. I found that it would get squished in his lunchbox before he could eat it. I started putting it in a storage container but I would have to use a very large container so it would be big enough to hold the banana. He complained that doing this took up a lot of room in his cooler so I started to look for an alternative way to protect his bananas. I found this set of 5 banana holders from TOLTOL.
I received 2 pink, 2 yellow and 1 green banana holder in my set. This gives me enough for my entire family to have one of their own. I even cut some vinyl on my Cricut to label them with names and graphics to customize each one. Bananas come in all shapes and sizes so not every banana will fit in these holders. I found that trimming the stem of the banana sometimes helps certain bananas to fit better. My daughter even likes to store other snacks (candies, fruit snacks, trail mix, etc.) in these to put in her lunchbox. Each holder has a loop at the top which can be used with a strap or a hook to hang it. This can be a bit hard to open but I discovered if I squeeze the middle a little bit, it makes it easier to use the tabs to open it up. These are great for protecting the banana in bags and backpacks.
